About our travels
Natalie & Simon set off to live the dream on June 20th 2010, shortly after they got married. They have been travelling happily on a super extended honeymoon ever since!
Sat in a cute independent coffee shop in Brighton UK drinking peppermint tea and reading the guardian's travel supplement – we discussed as we occasionally did, the plan that 'one day' we would up sticks and travel the world, eat exotic foods, meet interesting cultures and enchantingly different wild animals.
What was different that day, and that conversation in the coffee shop was that we realised had both reached a similar stage in our lives and careers that meant that we were confident enough that we could quit our jobs, leave home (temporarily) behind and set sail for the wild unknown.
Of course it is never as easy as just making that decision to go, but that was the first step. As it happened Simon proposed shortly after and we decided to wed before we left and have the honeymoon of our dreams.
The global economy wasn't doing well at the time, and Simon having lived through the first dot-com bubble bursting had expressed his desire to live abroad, travel and work on exciting projects should that ever happen again. So that's exactly what we did. As web developers we work remotely a lot of the time anyway, we can just have a lot more fun doing that from hostels and internet cafes around the world.
We do take on some client work, consultancy and rescue projects, for more information on our professional capabilities or to request work please see natimon.com. We also work on some fun personal projects including wildlifenearyou.com.
We made this site to keep our loved ones and friends informed of our adventures.
